Visiting Walt Disney World during the off-season can be a really wonderful experience. Since we are farmers, summer vacations were never really an option for our family. So, we would always make the best of it and vacation in the winter. Walt Disney World was always our choice vacation destination.
Truthfully, I love visiting Disney World in the winter months. Fewer crowds and temperature dips lead to a more pleasurable vacation. However, if you are used to summer visits, it will require an adjustment in the way you plan things. Here are some pointers for how to plan for a successful winter Disney World trip.

More Leisurely Stay
Since there are fewer crowds you don’t have to worry about packing too much into one day. You also will not need to concern yourself as much with weather upsetting your plans. Because of this, you will have a lot more freedom and less pressure on your schedule. That means it’s the perfect time to take advantage of more affordable lodging. Even if it is a little bit farther out from the parks the extra travel time won’t hurt much. Moderate and Value resorts are great choices in January-March.
More to Do
Plan other activities you would normally not have time for. Since your time in the parks will not be so strained, you can put a little more planning into other enjoyable activities. Maybe make reservations for an extra dinner in one of the parks, or break away early to do some shopping at Disney Springs.
Fair Weather
Plan for more comfortable weather during the day and anticipate spending more time outdoors, especially in the afternoon. The fair weather provides an opportunity to enjoy areas of the parks and resorts you might otherwise avoid do to heat. Cold Weather
Be prepared for the temperature drop at nighttime. While it is on the low side of warm during the day and relatively comfortable, The temperature drops sharply at night. The Florida humidity exaggerates the cold just as it does the heat, so pack layers. Thermal shirts, gloves, and pants are a must. Consider a warm jacket that is easy to pack such as goose down or something that can be likewise easily compressed.
Check For Special Events
When low crowds are anticipated Disney typically tries to entice visitors with special events and promotions. The latter will help you save some money, but special events can make your vacation with fun and unique experiences. You may have a chance to buy an additional ticket for Disney After Dark.
