If you have visiting Walt Disney World in the past, you may be familiar with the Disney Must-Do. Raise your hand if you too sat in your hotel room watching Stacey share all the Disney Must-Dos on the Walt Disney Resort Channel. I am sure we have checked a few of Stacey’ Must-Do’s off our Disney Bucket List. But did you know there are Disney MUST-NOT do’s? Well, Melissa (that’s me) says there is. And I am here today to share my list of Things To Never Do At Disney World. Do you think I will get my own segment just like Stacey? Hmmm….
Here are ten things You Should never to do at Walt Disney Disney, no matter what time of year you are visiting.
Sleep in
While it’s okay to sleep in while on vacation, you will end up missing out on a lot of rides by sleeping in! The shortest wait times and the least crowds are typically in the morning.
Assume your child will be able to ride all the rides
Many rides will be too scary or height restriction based for your little ones. Before heading to the parks, make sure you look up what rides your child will be able to ride ahead of time, so you don’t waste your park tickets.
Expect to hit everything in one day
With the constant expansions to the parks, you could be there from open to close and still not ride all the rides and see all the shows! Prioritize the things that are most important to you so that you can do all your must-do items.
Skip the FastPasses
These days, you can’t ride all your favorite rides without a FastPass. If you skip the FastPasses, you’re going to end up wasting at least an extra four hours just waiting in line!
Skip the value resorts when staying on-property
Value resorts offer the same onsite benefits that all the other onsite properties do! This means you don’t have to pay more for your early reservations or your early magic hours! If you’re on a budget, don’t discount value resorts!
Overpay when you don’t have to
While Disney is expensive, it’s easy to overpay when you really don’t have to! Look into the free transportation to avoid parking fees, know how much the restaurants cost and if it’s a good value for your family ahead of time. This will help you save money and enjoy your vacation more.
Forget to tip
Even if you are on the Dining Plan, you need to tip! This goes for your wait staff at restaurants and even your maid service. Cast members are always so helpful and courteous and deserve the gratuity.
Wear uncomfortable shoes
Disney involves a lot of walking! You will easily hit 10,000 steps or more in a single day ! Make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes, so you don’t get blisters.
Wait in long lines to ride your favorite rides
You don’t need to wait in long lines to ride all your favorite rides! Many rides offer single rider lines that move very quickly, and there are FastPasses available too. If the lines are still too long, come back later. Ride times change all the time.
Forget your rain gear
It rains almost every day in Florida! Be prepared and bring your rain gear into the parks, so you don’t have to pay top dollar for a poncho at the gift shops.
If you are making these mistakes, you could be spending WAY more money at Disney than you need to! In addition to the missed experiences, these must not do’s could even ruin your trip.
