We can’t wait to see these five new things coming soon to Disney World to round out 2019.
Epcot Forever
Brand new is the just-opened temporary replacement for Illuminations at Epcot. The new show Epcot Forever features and highlights iconic moments, music, and dialogue from Epcot attractions from past and present. The stunning pyrotechnic spectacular is a bridge between Illuminations and the upcoming permanent show Harmonious. Until then We love this tribute to everything that has made Epcot what it is today.
Rise of the Resistance
Star Wars fans rejoice! The most anticipated ride of 2019 has yet to open. However, we can’t wait until it finally arrives at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on December 5th. When Galaxy’s Edge opened at both Disneyland
and Walt Disney World
, guests loved the minimal crowds and low wait times. Chairman of Parks Bob Chapek touted the low waits as a success. He cited Universal’s opening day 10-hour wait for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures
Motorbike Adventure as a sign of failure. Other than successful crowd management one of the reasons for a lighter turn out at the parks could be that the major attraction had not yet opened.
We will have to wait until December to see what this epic ride has in store, but we know it involves a visit on board a Star Destroyer, a confrontation with Kylo Ren, and a crash landing on Batuu. The runtime of the attraction will be a staggering 15 minutes long. December 5 is the slated date, but they may bump it back. Either way we know it’s coming soon to Disney World.
Christmas at Animal Kingdom
Although Walt Disney World pulls out all the stops at Christmas time, Disney’s Animal Kingdom has traditionally been pretty laid back about any kind of festivities or decor, This year will be different, as the animal park will exhibit its own brand of Christmas
cheer with an emphasis on winter and arctic animals. There will be a new projection show on the Tree of Life set to music inspired by Christmas classics. There will also be puppets on discovery island of frolicking winter animals to view and enjoy. In addition, a unique style of Christmas decorations will be brought out for every section of the park including Pandora, Africa, Asia, and Dinoland USA.
Disney’s Riviera Resort
The long-anticipated new DVC resort in the Epcot area will finally open its doors on December 16. It’s such an exciting new hotel option because it derives inspiration from Walt Disney’s travels through Europe in 1935. The stylish new resort is one of the stops along the Disney Skyliner routes and features a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of the water that reaches out to the skies above Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Such a view will be excellent for fireworks, which brings us to–
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks
Another show coming soon to Disney World is Brand new for Christmas 2019
. We will get a stunning, state of the art fireworks show with animated projections over Cinderella castle
. The show will be enjoyable from almost any place within Magic Kingdom, but the best views will be on Main Street. Whether you stake out the perfect spot, buy the dessert party package, or watch from the viewing platform on the Contemporary hotel This exciting new show is destined to be a new Christmas tradition.
