Planning a Walt Disney World vacation is highly involved and maybe even a little complicated. There is a lot to know beforehand and a lot of preparations you have to make. If you need more in-depth planning, make sure you check out my Disney Game Plan Vacation Planner. For many, the once in a lifetime trip carries a lot of pressure to get right and not leave anything out. It’s even harder if you are trying to plan this expensive trip on a budget. It doesn’t have to be that difficult though. There are some easy things that you can do to make your Disney trip planning completely painless.
Save the Dates
There is an order to Disney trip planning that makes things instantly less overwhelming. The first thing you actually have to follow through on after booking your hotel is dining reservations. Ideally, you should book your room 11 months in advance. Dining reservations don’t open up until 180 days before check-in at 7:00 EST. Mark that on your calendar and be ready (That means 4:00 am west coasters). Fastpasses are next at 60 days before check-in. You should book your flight about 40 days ahead.
Special Offers
Use special offers to save money and book packages that are already bundled for you. You can still plan the details of your trip, but it’s nice to have a promotional offer that handles the broad strokes of Disney trip planning by giving a set number of days and tickets. You may even get special arrangements as part of your package that includes priority seating at events. While I can’t guarantee this is true, I find that signing up for Walt Disney World vacation information on their website is a great way to get in the “system” for the possible elusive “pin code” discounts.
Mid-Day Magic
If your family has a difficult time getting started in the morning, eliminate the hassle by purchasing mid-day magic tickets. These park admissions come at a reduced price and they are good for any time after 12:00 pm. Mid-Day Magic tickets save money and they help your mornings go a lot smoother. You can use that extra time to enjoy that expensive resort and its amenities or have a nice long breakfast without a care in the world.
My Disney Experience
Download My Disney Experience to have all the tools you need to plan your Walt Disney World vacation. It makes everything easy by putting all you need at your fingertips. You can even keep an eye on wait times any time you want so you have a good idea what Fastpasses to snag when the time comes. Even just using the maps helps you prepare for the trip and should get you excited about what’s to come.
Use a Travel Concierge
The best way to make planning your trip completely painless is to have somebody else do it. There are several travel companies that specialize in Walt Disney World trip planning. Many work for commission at no extra charge to you and they can even save you money and provide access to experiences you may have a hard time getting on your own. Their knowledge of current offerings and the best experiences to book is indispensable, so if you really want a great trip you don’t have to worry about, go to the professionals.
